I'd like to say to you a few things about what is going on with MB special prosecution as I am quite puzzled with where your stands looks to be on the few issues. Let me be blunt with you. I don't understand why you are still pleading innocent on the stock manipulation and the money embezzlement charges. I believe most of what you said in the past are true including who actually attracted the investments for BBK therefore who was responsible for repaying the money to those investors, who the real owner of DAS, and how badly you got screwed by those Korean prosecutors, etc. There is no reason for me not to believe you as what you claim fits neatly into all the surrounding circumstances, but not MB's. But I have thought you were not telling the truth on those two charges. What about all those funny stock buys and sells presented as the evidences? How can you explain tens of million dollars worth of your assets? Did MB fabricate the MAF reports that BBK filed through early 2001? Lastly, what about Erica's claim of " MB 'also' made big money from stock manipulation."? Don't you think that the Korean prosecutors took advantage of the cracks between your not-guilty claim and the above mentioned circumstances, and that you've recently lost in the law suit filed by Optional Ventures' stock holders for the same reason? I read newspaper articles reporting that you already had gone in front of the special prosecutors 10 times, but no articles have indicated so far that there was any face to face cross-examination that you asked for. I think it is not just because those critical witnesses are close to so called 'living power', but I also believe the fact that your claim lacks its credibility plays a big role. If I were Mr. H.Y. Chung I might not call for any cross-examination as long as you maintain the current stance. Haven't you figured out where the special prosecution is heading with all your smartness that made you go through all those great schools? I believe the public opinion is the most important thing to decide where the fate is in the politically super charged cases like this one. Where do you think the public opinion is? Do you think the special prosecutor can declare you are the one who is telling the truth? If you do you need to wake up! And what do you think is going to happen to the criminal trial currently under way in the Korean court room if the result of the special prosecutor's investigation result in the similar conclusion? Taking out Optional Ventures' money to repay the BBK's investors could be money embezzlement or could be settling the accounts. But how are you going to explain sending a chunk of money to your wife's bank account? It was not a mom and pop corner store. You seem to continue to express the bad feelings about the Korean prosecutors even after the presidential election. But you seem to change your behavior not to touch MB's nerves. I can fully appreciate why. Wasn't the result of the Korean prosecutors' investigation good evidence that how much fear they had toward MB? Understanding all those how can I blame you! However I don't think it is a good strategy. I'd like give you an advice if your intention is to bury the truth and become the principal criminal and to get MB's mercy down the road. My advice is do the same thing to those Korean prosecutors although you would feel very unfair. Aren't you still going through the criminal trial? It will be a big deal between you and the corrupt judicial and political power exchanging the 'truth' with 'mercy'. Be careful though. The 'mercy' may not be warranted. DO NOT FORGET THIS! And remember if you happen to reverse your testimony later for whatever the reason is you will be pronounced dead. One more thing for you to consider. If you take the deal you have chosen the rotten power over the citizen and the public opinion. I would not deny that it may look to be a better option to choose for your personal benefits/difficulties. However you want to also remember no political power lasts forever. There will come the time for you to think I've now paid enough dues and it is time to use the 'mercy'. But how do you know the power dynamics between MB and the public opinion will be in the right place for you to get out? If you keep the course that you might have already chosen you will have to go through the trail with no attention from the people and most likely will be sentenced heavy and will start serving with the only hope being MB's 'mercy' as people would already have wiped you out of their memory. I once wrote an article written in the form of a letter to your mom where I expressed my concern on unfair treatment that you would surely receive by the rotten judicial, political and press power. I also said in the same article that you should pay only the accessory's price, not the principal's. But it doesn't come for free. There is a part that you are responsible for. You need to tell all but only the truth. I am not interested in the amount of justice that are being applied to you if you are interested only in minimizing your personal suffering but not in the justice for many others. You are not the only one who is treated unfairly in the world we live in. It is frustrating for me to see you let the truth go down the drain. It is especially the case when the truth is about the person who is supposed to be the next president of this country. There will be lot of people who would think like me and would turn their back on you. It is not too late for you to choose to be with the people. All you need to do is tell the truth. This is your last chance. Confess first your involvement in stock manipulation. And confess what happened between you and MB after BBK license got cancelled by the authority when Financial Supervisory Service' audit revealed the foul play with BBK's fund reports in March, 2001. In my estimates you and MB had already 10 bill Won that you need to come up with to repay all the investors. You two partners must have had some serious discussions on how to resolve the 10 billion Won problem. Understanding you repaid all the BBK investors including profits, which I believe were actually MB's responsibilities, all the way till just before you flew to the U.S. in December, 2001 I have to believe that there was some arrangement between you and him. And Erica's words made me believe that you know how MB made his money from stock manipulation. If you did it for him you would have all the evidences. If he did it himself under a fake name you would still have enough information as it was obvious that Erica knew. If none of these is the case what the hell did she talk about? You don't want to make your entire family the swindlers, do you? I understand it is not an easy situation you are in. I hope you will make a right judgment call. '진실'하고 '선처'를 통째로 바꾸는 김경준과 정치, 사법 부패권력 간의 빅딜이 되겠소. 그런데 그 '선처'는 보장된 게 아니니 잘 생각해 보고 하시오. 검찰 수사 때처럼 속고 나서 나중에 번복하면 당신은 정말 구제불능이 되는 거요. 또 하나 생각해 봐야 할 게 있소. 위와 같이 되면 당신은 여론 또는 국민보다는 부패 권력을 선택한 거요. 지금은 당신 개인한테는 그게 더 나아 보이는 옵션이라는 점을 부인하지 않겠소. 그런데 정치권력이라는 게 대통령 임기 내에서도 어찌 될지 모르는 거 아니겠소? 몇 년 후 이 정도면 어느 정도 죗값을 치렀으니 이제는 그 '선처'를 받을 때가 됐다고 칩시다. 그때 이명박 씨와 여론의 역학 관계가 그 '선처'가 베풀어질 수 있는 상황이 될 것인지 한번 생각해 보는 게 좋겠소. 당신이 지금 선택해서 가고 있는 길을 그대로 가면, 특검 끝난 후 재판은 더욱 더 국민의 무관심 속에 일사천리로 진행될 것이고, 당신은 국민의 뇌리에서 잊혀진 채 이명박의 '선처'에 목을 맨 신세로 기약 없는 교도소 생활을 시작하게 될 것이오. 내가 전에 당신 어머님께 쓰는 편지 형태의 글에서 당신이 우리 사회의 부패한 사법, 정치, 언론권력으로부터 부당하게 취급받을 것에 대한 우려와 안타까움을 표현한 적이 있소. 같은 글에서 종범이면 종범만큼만 벌을 받아야 한다고도 했소. 그러나 그렇게 되기 위해서는 당신이 해 줘야 할 부분이 있소. 진실을 숨김없이 털어놓아야 하는 일이오. 나는 당신이 이렇게 본인 죗값만 최소화하겠다고 무책임하고 상식에 벗어나는 행태만 보이는 상황에서는 더 이상 당신에게 적용되고 있는 정의의 크고 작음에 관심이 없소. 세상에는 당신보다 훨씬 더 억울한 사람이 한둘이 아니오. 당신의 바보스러움에 진실이 묻혀지는 것만이 안타까울 뿐이오. 그것도 내 나라의 대통령이 될 사람과 관련된 중요한 진실이… 아마도 나와 같이 생각하는 사람들이 많을 것이라고 생각되오. 혹시 국민과 같이하는 옵션을 선택할 생각이 있으면 아직 늦지 않았소. 지금이라도 모두 털어놓으시오. 정말 마지막 기회요. 제일 먼저 본인의 주가조작 부분을 털어놓으시오. 그리고 2001년 3월 증감원 감사에서 MAF 펀드 운영보고서 조작이 들통나고 BBK 허가가 취소당한 후 당선자와 당신 사이에 무슨 일이 있었는지 낱낱이 밝히시오. 내 계산으로는 그때까지 벌써 100억 정도가 투자자의 투자금에서 비는데 동업자 간에 어떻게 해결할 건지에 대한 얘기가 있었을 게 아니오? 그리고 그때 무슨 약속이 있었으니 당신이 미국으로 도주하기 직전까지 BBK 투자자 돈은 하나도 빠뜨리지 않고 다 갚은 것 아니겠소? 그리고 당신 누이가 직접 얘기했으니 당신도 당선자가 어떻게 주가조작으로 돈을 벌었는지 알 것 아니겠소? 당신이 해서 나누었으면 당신이 증거를 모두 가지고 있을 것이고, 당신과는 별도로 차명으로 했으면 누구 이름으로 얼마나 했는지 그에 대한 정보가 있을 것 아니겠소? 이도 저도 아니면 당신 누이는 도대체 무슨 소리를 한 거요? 진정 당신 가족 모두가 사기꾼이 되고 싶소? 쉬운 선택이 아닌 건 알고 있소. 아무쪼록 잘 생각해 보고 올바른 판단 하길 바라겠소.
